Description and Requirement

he Risk Management Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the bank’s operations. This role ensures that the bank complies with regulatory requirements and maintains a robust risk management framework to safeguard the organization’s assets, reputation, and financial stability. The Risk Management Manager will work closely with various departments to implement risk management strategies and promote a risk-aware culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Risk Identification and Assessment:
    • Identify and evaluate potential risks (credit, market, operational, liquidity, compliance, and reputational) across the bank’s activities.
    • Conduct risk assessments and scenario analysis to determine the likelihood and impact of risks.
    • Develop and maintain a risk register to track and prioritize risks.
  2. Risk Mitigation and Control:
    • Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize exposure.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and recommend improvements as needed.
    • Collaborate with business units to integrate risk management into their processes.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure the bank complies with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Stay updated on changes in regulations and advise senior management on potential impacts.
    • Prepare and submit risk-related reports to regulatory authorities as required.
  4. Risk Reporting and Communication:
    • Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
    • Communicate risk-related issues and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Provide training and awareness programs to promote a risk-aware culture across the organization.
  5. Crisis Management and Business Continuity:
    • Develop and maintain the bank’s crisis management and business continuity plans.
    • Conduct regular testing and simulations to ensure preparedness for potential risk events.
    • Lead the response to risk incidents and ensure timely resolution.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of risk management professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members in their professional development.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  1. Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) is preferred.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
    • Proven track record of managing risk in a complex regulatory environment.
  3. Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and tools.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
