Subject Teacher (Lower Secondary Science)

Description and Requirement

  • Promote and be committed to the school’s goals and objectives and contribute to the effective and efficient running of the school.
  • Encourage high standards in all aspects of school life, particularly in student progress.
  • Promote a school culture which is positive, purposeful and professional.
  • Support and motivate students, teachers and other school staff.
  • Adhere to and implement school policies.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and the syllabus being taught, consistent with the Cambridge International Education (CIE) guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field.
  • A proven good record of teaching experience.
  • A genuine interest in Science and a strong commitment to high standards and a variety of approaches to teaching and learning.
  • The ability and commitment to be an excellent classroom teacher.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration for the wellbeing of students, with good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities and a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school.
  • Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • A clean background or police check and no question regarding suitability to work with children.
