Job Description & Responsibilities
- He receiving supervisor is responsible for the receiving department and the people who work within it.
- They are in charge of unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and stocking shelves
- They work closely with the purchasing department to ensure that the correct merchandise is being received.
- The receiving supervisor is responsible for the safety of the receiving department and the people who work within it.
- They must also maintain a high level of accuracy to ensure that the correct merchandise is being received and that it is being properly accounted for.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Unload, check, and store incoming merchandise according to company procedures
- Keep accurate records of received merchandise using computerized inventory systems
- Pull and prepare orders for shipping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Restock shelves as needed and maintain par levels of stock
- Train and supervise receiving clerks and other staff as needed
- Monitor stock levels and reorder merchandise as necessary
- esCoordinate with purchasing department to resolve issues with backordered or out-of-stock items
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to received merchandise
- Prepare reports on receiving activities as needed
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
