MEDICAL ACTIVITY MANAGER (SHORT TERM)

Description and Requirement

I. Hierarchical & Functional links
- Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, with the support of Yangon-based Medical Coordinator of
the mission.

II. Essential duties
Medical Activity Manager will be responsible for the following main activities:

Providing technical support to mobile clinic staff and/or CBOs implementing partners
Management of 2 Mobile Clinic teams
Collection and analysis of health and monitoring of pharmaceutical data
Supporting Field Coordinator and CCO in developing a coherent project implementation strategy
Supporting Field Coordinator and Field admin in budget monitoring related to programmatic activities
Participate to internal/external reporting and attendance to different meetings


III. Responsibilities

Tasks of Medical Activity Manager
Providing technical support to mobile clinic staff and/or national implementing partners

- Ensure Mobile Clinic staff and/or CBOs implementing partners apply medical protocols including infection
prevention and control (IPC), hygiene and confidentiality components.
- Ensure use and respect of medical protocols through on-site observation and “supportive supervision of
medical and paramedic’s staff
- With support of Medical Coordinator, implement regular on-the-job trainings to Mobile Clinic staff and/or
CBOs and supportive supervision according to a monthly schedule
- Train, supervise and guide CHW working in mobile clinic areas (patient flow management, confidentiality
measures)
- Establish mechanisms of providing regular weekly/monthly feedback on statistics and health activities to MC
staff and/or implementing partners
- Plan and implement thematic capacity building or specific trainings according to the identified needs for MC
staff and/or CBOs implementing partners
- Participate in establishing/improving referral pathways
- Link with public health facilities to ensure well-ordered patients’ referrals and contribute Health System
Strengthening (support to public health facilities)
- Supervise drugs stock management in mobile clinics in close collaboration with Pharmacist

Management of Mobile Clinic teams
- Organize the weekly schedule of the MC teams to ensure the smooth running of the activities
- Ensure that medical and paramedics (PSS officers) staff of MC respect their assigned tasks
- Provide strong leadership to ensure MC staff understand and work according to MdM principles and SOPs of
PHC services implementation in crisis settings.
- Supervise mobile team in their day-to-day activities in-line with security protocol/safety operational approach,
inform immediately to FC and the security focal point of CCO in case of any security issue


Collection and analysis of health and pharmaceutical data

- Ensure that relevant MC staff and/or implementing partner staff is fully conversant with data collection tools
and perform trainings as needed
- Ensure accurate collection and analysis of MC data and sharing with MEL department at CCO level.
- In close collaboration with pharmacist, monitor the drugs consumption by establishing/maintaining
mechanisms of consumption record and inform MdM deputy medical coordinator and medical coordinator in
case of any unusual consumption
- Identify and rectify gaps or weaknesses in medical activities by using monitoring and supervision tools

Developing coherent project implementation strategy

- Upon request, assist in doing comprehensive assessment of potential areas for mobile clinics including
community assessments
- Assist in preparing and implementing operational action plan for mobile clinics component in collaboration
with Field Coordinator.
- Assist in the implementation of the project activities in collaboration with MdM coordination team
- Assist MdM medical coordinator and MdM MEL coordinator in preparing data collection tools as well as
medical and paramedics protocols

Reporting and attendance to different meetings

- Prepare a weekly activity report to submit to Field Coordinator/Medical Coordinator/MEL coordinator.
- Assist MU team leaders to deliver MU daily activity report
- Compile epidemiological reports for inclusion in medical reports or any other relevant reports
- Assist the pharmacist in compiling drug consumption per month and per mobile clinic
- Participate in a pro-active way to MdM internal/external meetings (medical, security...)

Requirements

Background of the candidate

Education
(Essential)
M.B., B.S (with valid medical registration SAMA)
Language

Myanmar (native) - Mandatory
English language added value
Professional
Experience
- Background with primary health care clinical consultation is a compulsory
- Previous experience of working in emergency response (health sector) is
highly desirable
- Experienced working with beneficiary vulnerable population is an
advantage
- Experience of working with INGOs is an asset
Skills Required

- Establish good relationship with the different stakeholders (CBOs,
authorities) in order to have a smooth implementation of MdM project
- Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are
getting good quality services
- Inform immediately the security focal point in case of any security problem
in the field
- Perform other additional duties on request of the coordination team
Additional Skills
(preferred if any)
- Good computer skills especially Microsoft Office package
- Teamwork

Location - Must Be From Mandalay
MdM SALARY RANGE SOCIAL BENEFITS:
Salary Range : 3,685,961 MMK
