SMI Auto / SMI Rental Services
Europcar has appointed SMI Auto as sole franchisee for the territory of Myanmar. SMI Auto is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Windsor Holdings Ltd which is listed on the Singapore stock exchange. Following the liberalisation of Myanmar’s economy, there has been a strong growth in the economy and a significant rise in tourism flows resulting in a strong demand for car hire and rental services. Europcar is the first global brand to offer car rental & transportation services in Myanmar
The services offered by the Europcar Myanmar franchise, currently cover Yangon city, Yangon International & Nay Pyi Taw International Airports, the strategy within 12-24 months is an expansion plan to include Mandalay & an increased presence within the Yangon area, through expansion of our network to include hotel desks in partner hotels & representation in other carefully selected high exposure retail areas, including Hledan Centre, Yangon. These negotiations are on-going & we fully expect additional new locations to open in the coming months
A comprehensive new fleet of vehicles, ranging from small sedans to luxury people carriers, 4x4’s & executive cars will be offered to cater for the full spectrum of passenger requirements. We are building excellent relations with key suppliers including, Mazda, Mercedes, BMW, Kia, Chevrolet & Hyundai to offer a full range of products.
We are already experiencing success in terms of securing new business & increased revenue generation, & are pleased to now be working with several blue chip organisations including KPMG, Chevron, Kempinski Hotels, Total ERP, Qatar Airways, Roache Myanmar, Marubeni Corporation. We have recently been awarded a significant contract to supply Telenor. We continue to discuss new business opportunities with corporates, hotels & associated travel companies.
