Kerry Logistics Myanmar is expanding the logistics business in Myanmar by forming Kerry Resources Transport Limited, KM Terminal and Logistics Limited and Kerry Freight Myanmar. 


Kerry Resources Transport Limited (KRTL)’s core business is delivering logistics services such as Domestics transportation services with own assets of 49 trailers, cooperating with KART for cross-border transportation, transportation services by sea, rail transportation, warehouse rental and handling services.


KM Terminal and Logistics Limited (KMTL) operates dry ports in Ywartha gyi, Yangon and Myit Nge, Mandalay which includes 10,000 sqm bonded warehouse, 20,000 sqm distribution centers, 200,000 TEUs Container Yard and offers rail-transportation services by co-operating with Myanmar Railways.Kerry Freight Myanmar (KFM) offers services concerning with freight such as sea freight and air freight.

Operations Manager (Ywathagyi - Yangon)

Job Summary:

  • Work with General Manager (GM) for managing P&L of the company Operations.
  • Strategy – Work with GM on Planning, designing and implementing strategy of the operations to ensure company targets are met.
  • Recommend strategic plans and reviews, prepare and complete action plans
  • Work in line with GM in order to manage Operations efficiency and cost ensuring company achieve the P&L target.
  • Operational management
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales. 
  • Responsible to consider and endorse on the business operations proposals will be conduct within the company.
  • Lead teams in order to effectively execute activities to meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff.
  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Build customer relationships at operational levels within the customer and leading the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction and balance the customer’s needs with the company’s profitability.
  • Lead a team of Operations to ensure and improve the standard operating system, process, and policies in support of organizations mission and complies as per the local rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to all bonded warehousing, handling and shipping legislation & custom requirements.
  • Oversee day to day warehouse operational activities and ensure the efficiency of all receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layout, inspecting equipment, including preventive and corrective planning for cost efficiency.
  • Ensure that complete Health & Safety regulations are adhered the working area and by all operational staff.
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning staff; following up on work results.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity target is met.
  • Monitor and analyze team and individual operations staff’s key performance indicators.
  • Maintain operational staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training to work closely with HR department.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other departments, internal and external customers.

Strong Team Management : 

Drive team directly and through regional and functional leaders. Able to manage, motivate, train and influence the team member to keep high team morale.

Performance Management : 

Set up and monitor targets, respective KPI’s for/of staffs, reinforce and support people development of employees. 


Organization

Supervisor: Direct report to Assistant General Manager

Subordinate: Operations Supervisor. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Logistics Management or related field is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience of Business Development experience in Logistics, Rail Transportation, Warehouse Management, Container Management with Minimum of 5years in Management positions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good command in both written and spoken English and Burmese.
  • Skilled in all office software (FMS,WMS,CMS).

The preferred competencies

  • Leadership and is able to motivate others with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized with systematic and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, problem -solving, organizational, planning skills, accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess knowledge of Port & Logistic, Rail & trucking, Warehousing operations
  • International experience would be an advantage.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization. Be an effective communicator with Headquarter, other regions and internal Myanmar Team.
